Employee Wellness Assistant
My name is Alyssa Jensen. I am very excited to be back at Utah State as the Employee Wellness Assistant with the Be Well Program. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Utah State in 2013. After taking a year off to work I returned to school and graduated in 2017 with a Master of Health Promotion. I have always had a passion for health and well-being that started at a young age through playing high school sports and spending a lot of time outdoors. After high school I competed on the Women's Volleyball team at the College of Southern Idaho from 2009-2010 before transferring and finishing my degree and volleyball career at Utah State from 2011-2013.
Through my education, work, and sport experiences I have learned that wellness has many different areas and can be slightly varied from person to person. It not only includes the physical fitness and proper nutrition aspects but also mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental dimensions to create a well-rounded holistic approach. It is my goal to continue developing this culture of wellness at USU and in doing so, help others achieve their goals and become better versions of themselves in the process. I am a firm believer that everyone, no matter what level of wellness they are at, can start now to improve their health and wellbeing.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas to improve the Be Well Program!
