Small Steps to Health and Wealth™ (SSHW) is “designed to motivate consumers to implement behavior change strategies that simultaneously improve their health and personal finances.” The research-based program is based on the fact that “small, positive behavior changes, such as saving $5 or cutting 100 calories a day, make a big difference over time and are always better than taking no action at all.” We are much more likely to change our behavior by changing small habits rather than trying to make large, sudden changes in our lives. The website includes 25 behavior change strategies Fact Sheets, motivational messages, success stories, and helpful links and resources. Each fall, winter, and spring SSHW runs a challenge where participants track their positive behavior changes and top scorers are rewarded with prizes. For more information about the program, please visit the SSHW website .
