The following activities are designed to help aid engagement and enjoyment at work. Activities include financial management, networking, stress management, and more. Each activity is worth 100 points; participants must earn 100 points from the Work Well category.

Complete Three LinkedIn Learning Courses

With more than 10,000 courses taught by industry experts - and more added every week - LinkedIn Learning is designed for all levels of learners, and it's available whenever you are ready to learn.

Attend Two Retirement Education Week Presentations

100 points

Whether you are just beginning to plan for your retirement future or are nearing a retirement date, Retirement Education Week aims to support you in your planning. Being informed about retirement planning is crucial for us all, and this event can help you in making well-informed decisions about your retirement planning journey. Attend two of the presentations during Retirement Education Week and submit the necessary documentation for verification. 

Documentation
Submit a word document with your name, A#, the date and title of the presentation you attended. We will verify attendance from Zoom records.

Join an Emergency Response Team

100 points

Help your department or building plan for unexpected events (like a pandemic!) by participating on an Emergency Response Team.

  1. Email emergencymanagement@usu.edu to see if your department/building already has an Emergency Response Plan (ERP). They’ll schedule a time to go over it with you and help you understand the opportunities for participation (Plan for a 1 hour overview).
  2. Review the plan and positions, or begin a plan if it doesn’t yet exist, and choose the position that suits your availability and skills.

Documentation
Submit the updated plan to emergencymanagement@usu.edu and select this activity on the submission page. They will confirm your participation when we are reviewing submissions.

Create Your Own Activity Option

Don't see an activity that interests you? Maybe you are already doing something that could meet the requirements? New this year, you can create your own activity for the Work Well category! Activities need pre-approval from the Be Well program before submitting for documentation. Email bewell@usu.edu for approval of activity, determine necessary documentation requirements and any other questions.

Attend the Health and Wellness Expo

100 points

Attend at least two presentations or activities for the Health and Wellness Expo throughout the week or attend the in person testing and assessment day in the Taggart Student Center Sunburst Lounge and complete the passport. Fill out the passport by visiting vendor booths and participating in health testing and assessments and turn it in to be entered to win great prizes.

Documentation
Submit a photo of yourself or your passport from the testing day or from two events throughout the week if in person. For virtual attendees, register on Zoom and we will verify from the attendance list.

Meet With a Financial Advisor

100 points

Meet with your financial advisor to discuss your financial future. Financial advisor can be from any institution that you choose. You do not have to meet with the advisors available through the USU benefits program.

Fidelity, URS and TIAA-CREF advisors are available to meet for one-on-one by appointments virtually, and in-person on the Logan main campus. To view availability and to schedule an appointment follow the links on Retirement for the respective vendors.

Stress Management Series

USU Be Well is now offering a free, online Stress Management Series by Dr. David Katz. This is a 3 part series designed to help you recognize, manage and master stress. The videos are a total of 45 minutes long and are hosted on the ILS system.

*Space Dynamics Lab employees may view the video and record and submit when they completed the series along with a screen shot of themselves watching the video.

Sculpture Walk or Public Art Tour

100 points

Take time from your day to enjoy some of the beautiful artwork displayed across your community!

Statewide Campuses: Please include the name of the walk or tour you complete and at least five (5) pictures of the various artwork.

Logan Campus: The NEHMA Sculpture Walk includes 3 self-guided tours to showcase 36 public sculptures across campus. You may choose any of the three routes available. Routes vary in distance between 1.25 miles and 3.33 miles long. You can tune into any audio tour using your mobile device. Printed maps including the different routes and their distances are available in the Employee Wellness Center (HPER 109), or at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum. Virtual maps of the tour are also available.

Documentation
Take at least five (5) pictures of each site or piece of artwork and upload them via the submission page.

Wellness and Benefits Lunch and Learn Seminars

Learn about current topics in health and wellness as well as informative presentations from our benefits teams most frequently asked questions. Learn how you can start or continue your health and wellness journey and become a smarter consumer of your benefits package. All presentations will take place from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. in person or broacast via Zoom. Dates and topics* of in person and virtual presentations. If presentations are able to be recorded, they can be accessed on the ILS system or the Be Well YouTube Channel.

*Be sure to read event descriptions thoroughly - not all events on the calendar qualify for the Rewards program.

Spreading Positivity Video Series

100 points

Help spark a movement towards positive creative work environments with this video series hosted on the ILS. You will see it as a list of TED Talks for you to choose from. Pick any 3 videos to watch, and enjoy learning tips for a more positive life! Be sure to click "Show More Results" at the bottom to see the full list.

*Space Dynamics Lab employees may view the video list and record the date they viewed each of the three along with a screen shot of themselves watching the video. 

Documentation
Screenshot your “My Learning” page (be sure to check the Be Well box under "Skills" to filter it first) to show that you have watched at least 3 of the videos, and upload it on the submission page.

Obtain a Certification or Recertify an Existing Certification

100 points

Getting a certification is a great way to further your knowledge or expertise in your current position and provide opportunities for career growth. They can also be a way to make connections and network with peers. Take some time to find a certification that will help you professionally or ask your supervisor for suggestions.

Submit a scan or copy of your certificate of completion.

Audit a USU Class or Take a Class for Credit

100 points

Continue to grow your skillset and education by auditing a class offered through USU. All employees working 50% time or more may audit classes for free. Class fee may apply for lab supplies etc. For more information, please view the Auditing section of the Services page.

Join the USU Commuter Club

Do you currently ride your bike to work or wish you could ride to work? Join the USU Sustainability Council's Commuter Club today and start reaping the benefits of a healthy sustainable commute. Commuter Club members are eligible to borrow a commuter club bike from Aggie Blue Bikes and there are a host of other benefits for joining. Sign up today!

Attend Two World Mental Health Day Activities

Approximately 47 million (nearly 1 in 5) American adults are experiencing a mental health illness. In conjunction with its Aggies Thrive initiative, the Office of Human Resources has partnered with Campus Recreation for USU’s participation in World Mental Health Day on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. We are thrilled with the variety of activities that have been planned and encourage everyone to participate in some way. A detailed list of events can be found at wmhd.usu.edu

*World Mental Health Day occurs during the Fall session and does not count for the Spring session.*
