As for my wellness journey, it started about six years ago after reading Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and learning that the physical aspect of my life was suffering greatly. I also had my wife and kids patting me on my belly and asking me when I was due! Since then, I’ve worked out at the gym here at USU on a regular basis each week, learned to eat much better and, as a result, I have gone from 238 lbs. to 215 lbs. In the process, I have discovered renewed energy, increased self-confidence, increased capacity to do everyday things and a whole wealth of knowledge regarding personal health. I still have a bit of a tire around my middle but it is now a Geo Metro size instead of a truck size. My next goal is to lose the tire completely and go from 17% body fat to somewhere around 10-12%, which will be difficult but I want it!
